Getting started
Before completing the form, please read below:
Are you the owner of the property?If you aren’t, contact the owner. If you live in an apartment, contact the Managing Agent/Factor or Housing Association as they may be responsible for carrying out repairs. If you live in a shared ownership property, you will need to contact the Housing Association as they may have a responsibility to carry out repairs.
Check any warranties/guarantees that may be applicable to the problems with your property.
If there are, contact the provider of the warranty.
Check if the problem is something covered by your household insurance policy.
If it is, contact your household insurers.
You will need your Buildmark policy number.
This can be found on the Buildmark certificate which is issued to the first owner to confirm that the home is protected by the policy. If you do not have your Buildmark policy number, or are a subsequent owner, please contact our Customer Services team on 0344 633 1000.
It will help us assess if you can provide as much information as you can about the problems you are experiencing with the home.
For example, photos (where possible) and any reports you have obtained will be useful.
If there are any other parties who have an interest in the home, that may affect how we deal with your claim.
